How to replace an automatic transmission with a high performance 5 / 6 speed manual in a '78 Corvette?

It is time for Restoration / Tweeking of my 78 Corvette to take the next step. I want to rebuild or refurbish the small-block Chevy double its population of 200 hp. I also capital to replace 4-speed automatic with a yield of 5 / 6 speed manual. I know all the work that is involved (or more precisely the money because I will not do myself), but anyone know of any aftermarket tranny to fit with little or no modification area (not cut in the Pedel clutch and adjusting the gear lever of space) ... colleagues types Vette, please help!
