Car Garage stop
how do you stop a cat sitting on your car?

we own the cat, the cat knows it's not to sitting or walk on the car. It moves as so as someone walks outside. The car is in a carport not a garage. The cat knows!!!! how can we beat him at this game?? Im stick of paw prints and craw scratches, its a new car too worth heaps. Please help need advice
It is an outdoor cat, it has its own shed it gets locked up at night, so it's not roaming around. It is cruel to lock up an animal inside, so this isnt an option but thank you for that idea, its the only cat in the area.

There is a product called a "scat mat",available from Dr's.Foster and Smith.com.It's a plastic mat with an electrical current running through it.It runs by a 9 -volt battery, and the shock is mild(I tested it on myself and my cat-I bought one for my neighbors, because my cat was getting on their Jeep) You lay it across the hood of your car,and when the cat steps on it,it receives a harmless, but startling shock. It works very well, and is endorsed by The Humane Society. It costs around 60.00.You might think about purchasing one,or keeping kitty indoors.here is a link to another website where you can purchase it.
