What to do about convertible car seats?
We are getting ready to transition from an infant Car Seat to a "big boy" convertible car seat. We were lucky enough to get one from our registry. But we have two cars. It has been really easy with the infant car seat because we have two bases, one for each car. So my husband & I can equally drop off and pick up the baby from daycare. Do we need to go out and buy a second convertible car seat? They are expensive (upwards of $150)! What do you think we should do?
I would really suggest getting 2, you can switch them out, but it's really a pain, mine never comes out of my car, unless it's absolutely necessary. I have 2, one for my car and one for my fiances truck, they are both fairly expensive ones. But you can always buy cheaper ones, they wouldn't sell them if they weren't safe, the expensive ones are more convenient, and usually a little more comfortable, but the cheap ones are just as safe. Wal-mart has ones for like $45 and big lots always has the more expensive ones on sell too. One of my sons was $200 but they had it at Big lots for like $60, it was an older version, but it was still nice. You can try it with one, just plan it out pretty well, and it might work out, but I think it would be best to just invest in another one.
