Corvette Oil Gauge

Why would the Oil Pressure Gauge on my 2001 corvette read 120lbs , when I check the level the oil level is fin

97-04 Corvettes have a history of bad Oil Pressure Sending units. It's located at the back of the intake manifold on the block. You must remove the intake manifold to replace it. Although GM does have a special tool to help facilitate it's removal with out pulling the intake manifold off. Cost is around 45.00 for the socket.
