** NEW ** Help with Windows XP Media Center Edition?

My hard drive crashed, so I bought a hard disk compatible From Western Digital 320GB SATA for my laptop. I also bought Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, because that's what my old record hard. It detects the new drive is there, but when I put the CD in Windows XP MCE it says "Operating system not found". I changed the system to start operating the first CD is loaded (OPTICAL DRIVE?), but I still get the same error "Operating system not found". Do I get the wrong CD or CD drive is bad?
