1990 Mercedes 300SE Climate control problem.?

Approximately 1.5 years, my AC stop providing cold air. I bought Junkyard another compressor and have yet to install. Two years ago, I changed my blower motor. Two months ago, the fan motor stopped working again. With winter coming, I'm trying to get the system working again to provide heat. I went to scrapping and bought and tried to use controller fan, a blower motor and used a use control system climate. All are best suited to my car. I've tried in combination so I am sure all the pieces I have are good and the problem is elsewhere. A strange event occurred on three occasions. With all switches in the off position after sitting unused for a week three mornings are cold, the fan and come to work up until I touch a button on the system and then stops. I can not get back again. Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem?
