Plymouth Nos Mopar
Plymouth Nos Mopar
NOS is really bad for the engine?
I would like to add some more at Plymouth with a 440.Some say we will not hurt your engine if used sparingly, others say you need a hard rods.So low beam h what is the truth? What Mopar heads think?
To use NOS, first you need a bottom end that can handle the force of combustion increase. There also need a piston, which does not melt by increasing combustion temperatures. In other words, it is necessary to throw a lot of money on engine in order to handle the juice. My personal opinion? It needs a serious examination of the neck up. The MOPAR 440 engine is one of the most powerful non-headed Hemi engines of the 60's and 70's, and if you plan to put the juice to it and run it on the street you are looking for serious legal trouble. In fact, some States, Maryland, for example, made it illegal to have a NOS system installed on any machine license for use street because all The Cars that exploded were mere accidents or collisions. Now if only application running, go ahead. Just be sure to have a hell of a series of checks.
