i bought the camaro,?
hey all. i asked some people about the camro and what could be wrong,! well i got it 3 days ago and omg i put it in my garage and the heat was on, new batterie, and i got fresh gas, tranny was good still, the motor wasnt cracked or anything! shifts great, NO mice or critters in my car!!! no floor rust, seats were steamed, waxed the outer side of it!!!! its very nice, well new fluids and batterie, and 3 days later i went in my garage and it started up, it took like 5 trys then started, smoked VERY bad, but now it dont. its loud and it has the stock muffler, head lights work, no wiring problems, all it need's is new or used tires, the 1's i got on it now are from my uncles van lol, but otherwise it was worth it, but a gas hog, i drove it down the country road and it ran fine, no tranny slipping or problems, but my question is that can there bee anything else wrong with it i dont no about? or will it have motor problems soon since sitting? thxxs
the first thing you should do is a complete tune up, new plugs, and wires, check the distributer for cracks, replace head gaskets, and intake gaskets, exhaust manifold gaskets, those are things you can do while the engine is in the car, if it is a carbuerated car get a rebuild kit, if its fuel injected, pull the injectors and clean them up with solvent of some sort, if that doesnt stop the smoking problem then you should replace your valve seals, or maybe have your heads rebuilt, not only will this stop the smoking, but could improve your fuel consumption, good luck, by the way, what year camaro is it, and what motor is in it?
