Is there a way to test the ABS 96 DODGE RAM 4x4?

I just bought this truck 2 weeks ago, I'm sure the ABS does not from what I can tell all fuses and circuit breakers are fine, the ABS light illuminates when you turn the ignition key in a few seconds, as required, can not see anything disconnected or something. Is there a way to get an error code or reset the system somehow to see if it still works? in the application I can not feel the brake pedal as with most ABS. In my truck, the wheels lock instantly and skates on wet or icy conditions when the road is dry and apply the brakes. he stops and does not even try to block ....... something just does not seem right

The ABS control is supposed to come first, while the system is running diangostic a quick test. They check to see that the sensor wheel speed, the level of brake fluid and pressure system are all OK. The light must go agter few seconds. If there is an error with the system turns on and stays on. In a 96 You need a scan tool to remove the codes from it. It seems that your system works correctly.
